Transistor, from Supergiant Games (creator of Bastion), has been released today on Playstation 4 and PC. Transistor is a sci-fi themed RPG that requires the player to use strategic planning in order to defeat foes. The expectations are high as their last game, Bastion, was nominated and won many awards. We got our first hands-on preview of the game when it demoed at E3 2013 and it had seemed to be on the right path. The demo was short but it introduced the main game mechanics. Transistor’s art style and fluidity of the the mechanics definitely did not disappoint. If Supergiant can keep that consistency it may end up being one of the best games we play all year.
