Alright, so this isn’t really a first impression since we saw Bloom – The Game at the IndieCade Showcase at E3 back in June. It’s another interactive installment that was conceptualized as an act of “collective gardening.” Meaning, new formations would be built and disappear depending on how the crowd interacts with it.
You use the pink pieces to build large structural pieces or you tear down other ones to use those pieces in new ones. There is a constant shift and throughout the day every time we would walk by there was always something new. Bloom was commissioned by the Greater London Authority as part of the Wonder series that are celebrating the Olympic and Paralympic games.
According to the Artist Statement,
“The project was also intended as an educational installation; the public would learn about patterns and structure by figuring out what structures could stand and how to achieve specific sequences.”
